When someone buys or sells a house with a Giving House Realtor, they’ll be asked to choose a charity that they wish to support as soon as they commit to working with us. Their Giving House Realtor will donate 25% of their commission at closing to the charity. The average Giving House donation is $1,500 or more. We make that donation at closing through the title agency. Giving House Realtors personally commit to making a donation from their commissions and do not receive any special funding, incentives, or additional compensation. It’s a pure donation made in your honor by your Giving House Realtor.

Giving House Realtor Requirements

To be accepted, you must:

  1. Be licensed to sell real estate in the State of Florida and have no official complaints attached to your license.

  2. Have closed at least 12 transactions in the last 24 months prior to joining Giving House.

  3. Be full-time. Part-time Realtors cannot serve their customers to our high standards.

  4. Be physically located in Northeast Florida. We have plans to expand to new markets and we are currently limited to Jacksonville, FL.

  5. Agree to abide by our core values.

For charities that wish to receive funds through Giving House…

Just about any charity can benefit from Giving House and it requires no immediate action on the charity’s part. Your charity does not need to be located in Northeast Florida to receive Giving House funds but we do ask that all charities conform to our core values. Giving House Realtors have the final say in who receive funds (since its their money). Let’s say you’re working at the North Florida Humane Society. Someone who is working with a Giving House Realtor to buy or sell a home can select your charity as their intended recipient of a Giving House donation from their Realtor. That Realtor will donate 25% of their net commission to your charity immediately after the closing of the real estate transaction. Depending on state regulations and broker rules, this usually happens as part of the transaction and a check is cut immediately at closing. If not, it will be mailed shortly after. We will need a copy of your 501c3 letter from the IRS and a w-9 form. Any charity can promote Giving House among their audience, so feel free to spread the word.
